Use Of A Nurse Call Systems

Nurse call systems are important tools for communicating with patients in the healthcare industry. Typical nurse call systems typically consist of five parts: the primary station, emergency call response system, triage nurse station, and secure messenger. The primary station is the main focal point of the entire system. This station acts as the primary number for communication within the system. In addition, it is used for directing patients to different departments within the hospital, and it often redirects calls to an in-house nurse or medical representative. Patients or visitors can initiate a call using the number and may also be placed on hold while the appropriate personnel calls them back. The emergency call response system allows the staff to determine if a patient requires medical attention and initiate transport to the nearest medical facility. Most healthcare facilities are already familiar with these types of systems and are making the transition to a new system fairly seamless.
