You Can Get An Odorless Hand Sanitiser If You Are Allergic To Scents

The use of hand sanitisers has become quite common during this world wide Corona pandemic, for maintaining the proper sanitary conditions and killing viruses. Most of these hand sanitisers, that are alcohol based, also contain the fragrances of essential oils to hide the odor of denatured ethanol, which some of them contain.

Denatured ethanol is cheaper than ethyl alcohol which is the recommended alcohol for use in hand sanitisers. Ethanol is filtered with activated carbon and this removes all the odor. The smell in raw ethanol comes from the corn, sugar cane, and other organic sources that ethanol is made from, and other chemicals that are added to prevent its use for drinking. This adds to the odor.

Many people are allergic to fragrances and scents and prefer to use a odorless hand sanitiser. They must look for those that contain ethanol that has gone though a filtration process and has no odor or fragrance added to it.
