Leadership consulting firms have evolved out of decades of providing executive coaching for corporations and organizations. In the past, an individual was likely to go through a corporate leadership program that focused on enhancing interpersonal skills such as leadership styles, communicating effectively, managing time, and boosting productivity. The goal of these programs was to create a more efficient work environment and increase the company’s bottom line. These programs often focused on increasing productivity by having executives engage in hands-on experience with the products and processes of their employers.
Even though there is money to be made from leadership development consulting firms, the industry is still small, and there are only a few major players in the field. However, since technology and globalization have combined to make huge strides forward in terms of global business development, many firms have expanded their business activities to include executive leadership coaching services.
