On any trip to Paris, you may be wondering where to stay, especially if it’s your first visit. The city has thousands of hotels for every budget, and rental apartments can be found all over Paris; there are even a couple of campsites on the outskirts. 20 distinct neighborhoods or arrondissements comprise the central area of Paris, and each has its own attractions. The 1st arrondissement is the very heart of the city, and although you’ll pay more to stay here, you’ll have some of the best shopping within easy reach, as well as the Louvre museum. The 8th is another pricey area, home to that great shopping avenue, the Champs Elysees, while the 5th is home to the city’s famous Latin Quarter. More affordable areas include the artistic area of Montmartre, with its village like feel, and the vibrant up and coming areas around Pere Lachaise cemetery.
