With the 2020 election behind us, some retailers found themselves stuck with large inventories of no-longer-pertinent anti Trump clothing items. While their natural impulse might be to donate these items for a tax writeoff to lessen the blow of unsold inventory, they might also want to consider holding onto their stock for a while.
Rising levels of disdain for the Biden administration among Trump supporters is fueling talk of a comeback for the former President. This might suggest that all those anti Trump items could return to relevance and again fetch full prices. Indeed, with inflation cranking up, they might even sell for more than they did the first time they were offered.
The only real question is one of storage space. Do these merchandisers have the space to warehouse their inventory against the possibility that a Trump comeback effort might be mounted in 2024?
