Reading Intervention Australia: An Informative Look At An Important Program

Reading Intervention Australia (RIA) is a registered, not-for-profit organization that has been providing quality reading intervention programs to schools throughout Australia since 1997. RIA’s Reading Recovery and Early Reading Intervention Programs have helped countless students overcome difficulties with reading and improve their literacy skills.

What should I know about this?

RIA is a Reading Recovery provider. Reading Recovery is an international early literacy intervention program designed to help struggling readers in Years One and Two. The program provides one-to-one tutoring for students for 20 minutes each day, five days a week, over a 12-week period.
RIA also offers Early Reading Intervention (ERI) Programs for preschool and Kindergarten students who are at risk of not meeting reading benchmarks when they start school. ERI uses a multi-sensory approach to teaching phonemic awareness, letter-sound knowledge, and sight word recognition.
