If you want to serve as a firefighter in Australia or any other country for that matter, you need both physical and mental qualities to succeed at this job. This is because this job is demanding and only people with a high level of physical conditioning can do the job.

The first step in becoming a firefighter is to visit the firefighter department near you. When you get there, the officials will give you the forms. They will also answer any questions you have for them. The next step is to fill out the forms and officially apply for a position in accordance with your qualifications and experience.

If the fire service department approves your application, you start the relevant training courses. These courses include theoretical and practical aspects. At the end of the training, you become a firefighter officially. Now, this does not mean you are done with training for life. You will attend training courses at different levels to perfect and update your skills.
